Abel Klainbaum has been the director of the Appalachian Spork Institute for 17 years (2003-2007 and 2009-2023).

He also serves time as director of the Fuller Street Robot Retirement Home, accordionist in a tango puppetry band  and wants someday to become a board member at GM.

The NEGSMA logo can be found imprinted on every original Georgia Spork. It was conceptualized in 1982 by the great Danish philosopher Dansk Kiosk, and then re-designed by his mother upon his death in 1996, after he was trampled to death by a pony near Madagascar.
